Eco-printing is a process of “printing” plants onto animal fibers (i.e., silk) or plant fibers (i.e., on cotton-based watercolor paper).
What makes this process so cool and unique is that the color, sharpness, and intensity, of the image of the plant on the fiber depends on many factors such as the type of plant (not all plants will work), where it is from in the world, when it was harvested, how the fiber is prepared, whether the fiber is colored and with what color, how much pressure is created between the plant and the fiber, and how the plant is made to impress itself on the fiber (using different forms of heat). The result is an individually-crafted, unique, earth-focused, and aesthetically pleasing product.
